Surfcomber Hotel

Miami Beach, FL

Located in the heart of South Beach, the Surfcomber Hotel underwent a targeted interior renovation aimed at improving both back-of-house efficiency and guest-facing amenities. The project involved approximately 2,813 square feet of interior improvements, with a primary focus on the kitchen, multipurpose room, and restroom facilities.

INTERIOR RENOVATION IMPROVING HOTEL OPERATIONS AND GUEST AMENITIES

The existing kitchen, totaling 961 square feet, was completely reconfigured to support an upgraded equipment layout that improves operations and service flow. The scope included the installation of a new walk-in cooler and freezer, as well as dedicated areas for dishwashing and food prep—designed to meet current code requirements and streamline operations for high-volume service.

To enhance guest convenience, new restrooms (609 SF) were constructed within part of the former seating area, ensuring compliance with plumbing fixture requirements. A new exit was added to the adjacent deck area, improving circulation and emergency egress. Interior demolition work included the removal of non-structural dividing walls between former dining spaces and lobby flooring, creating a more open and adaptable layout.

Additionally, guest suites were modernized with updated finishes, fixtures, and layout adjustments, aligning with the hotel’s overall design vision. In total, the renovation balances operational upgrades with hospitality-driven design, ensuring the Surfcomber remains competitive in Miami’s boutique hotel market.
