Delray Beach Historic Railway Station

The rehabilitation of the Delray Beach Historic Railway Station represents a careful balance between preservation and modernization. Originally constructed in 1927 and listed on both the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and local historic designations, the 7,343-square-foot depot is a rare cultural and architectural artifact. HISTORIC PRESERVATION & PHASED RENEWAL

Envisioned as a two-phase renovation, the project first focuses on the structural stabilization and adaptive reuse of the depot. Phase 1 transforms the existing building into a functional mix of spaces: a 4,215-square-foot warehouse, 2,366 square feet of office and utility areas under air, and a 762-square-foot porte cochere that restores the station’s traditional character. Phase 2 will extend the effort to the surrounding site, enhancing the station’s setting and reinforcing its role as both a historic landmark and a civic resource. Together, the renovations breathe new life into an enduring symbol of Delray Beach’s heritage, ensuring it continues to serve the community for decades to come.
