Water Quality Laboratory Renovation
Boynton Beach, FL
PROJECT INFORMATION
The City of Boynton Beach Utilities Water Quality Laboratory Renovation project transforms critical infrastructure within the West Water Treatment Plant, updating 6,380 square feet across the first and second floors of the 16,800-square-foot facility. This comprehensive renovation supports the city’s commitment to high-quality water monitoring and regulatory compliance.
A RENOVATED LAB FOR TODAY'S WATER QUALITY STANDARDS
The project scope includes significant interior upgrades to laboratories, offices, and restrooms, replacing outdated walls, ceilings, flooring, and lighting systems with durable, modern materials. New doors, frames, and hand railings were installed to meet current building and safety codes, and the stair systems were brought into compliance for accessibility and safety.

A major focus of the renovation was improving the laboratory environments, with the removal and replacement of legacy equipment, installation of new millwork, and the integration of an upgraded exhaust hood system for improved ventilation and air quality. The existing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems were also modernized to support the demands of contemporary laboratory operations.
Additionally, the facility’s roof system was repaired and reinforced to accommodate new air handling units and roof penetrations, enhancing HVAC performance and energy efficiency.
With these updates, the Boynton Beach Water Quality Laboratory is now better equipped to support vital water testing operations in a safer, more efficient, and code-compliant environment.
