Hester Park Airnasium
Boynton Beach, FL
The Hester Park Airnasium project introduces a 17,500-square-foot recreational structure designed to enhance the park’s existing amenities while supporting year-round community use. The new airnasium is defined by a pre-engineered open steel structure that spans the existing basketball courts, offering protection from sun and rain without enclosing the space, thereby maintaining natural ventilation and an outdoor experience.
SHELTERED PLAY. OPEN ACCESS.
The design addresses the need for improved durability and usability of outdoor athletic facilities. By shielding the courts from weather exposure, the structure helps to reduce long-term maintenance requirements and supports extended use throughout the year. The open-air format also allows the space to serve multiple functions, including organized sports, informal recreation, and community events.

Key features include the installation of pendant lighting over the courts to accommodate evening play and activities. An illuminated sign along the street improves visibility and enhances the park's presence within the community. Together, these upgrades contribute to a more accessible and resilient public recreation space that supports active lifestyles and community engagement.
