BSO - Real Time Crime Center
Fort Lauderdale, FL
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) has undergone a strategic expansion and modernization, transforming approximately 6,325 square feet of the 4th floor of the Public Services Building into a cutting-edge law enforcement intelligence hub.
MODERNIZED WORKSPACE DESIGNED FOR CRITICAL OPERATIONS
The renovation project, led by a team of architectural and engineering professionals, focused on reconfiguring the existing layout to support an expanded RTCC and the relocation of the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) within the same floor. The project included selective demolition of existing interior elements—walls, ceilings, ductwork, lighting, electrical, and communication systems—to accommodate the new plan.

Key improvements included a reconfigured main entrance, additional private offices and open workstations, and a new ceiling plan that supports improved lighting, acoustics, and air distribution. The renovation also included upgrades to the fire alarm, fire sprinkler, HVAC, and security systems, ensuring the space meets the high standards required for mission-critical operations.
Designed to support rapid data sharing, real-time surveillance, and inter-agency coordination, the expanded RTCC enhances the Sheriff’s Office’s ability to respond to crime proactively and efficiently. Serving as a vital resource for public safety across Broward County.
