PBG Tactical Training Facility

Palm Beach Gardens, FL

This project involved the creation of a Design Criteria package for a new Tactical Training Facility for the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department. The vision emphasized not only technical performance but also architectural integration, ensuring the new facility harmonizes with the existing campus while establishing a strong civic identity. The conceptual design accounts for the complexities of tactical training—spaces that must safely accommodate ammunition, explosive materials, and other hazardous elements without compromising occupant health or long-term building resilience.

ARCHITECTURAL STRATEGY & SAFETY-INFORMED DESIGN

Programmatically, the facility was organized to provide a logical, uninterrupted flow that mirrors the rhythm of a real-world training session. The layout integrates a Training Room, Driving Simulator Room, Firing Area, and Open Tactical Area into a cohesive sequence, optimizing efficiency while maintaining strict safety protocols. Every design decision—from spatial adjacencies to ventilation strategies—was driven by a commitment to health, safety, and operational performance. The result is a forward-looking facility concept that elevates tactical preparedness while reinforcing architectural continuity across the police department campus.
