Pew Family Natural Science Education Center

Lake Worth Beach, FL

Situated within the scenic landscape of John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, the Pew Family Natural Science Education Center serves as a dynamic hub for environmental education, research, and public engagement. This thoughtfully designed facility supports a wide range of programming—including K-12 school visits, scientific exploration, community workshops, and special events.

A DEDICATED FACILITY BUILT TO SUPPORT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

At the heart of the Center is a flexible classroom space that can accommodate up to 40 students and instructors, complete with 8–10 modular tables, 60 chairs, and ample storage. The space is equipped for immersive, hands-on learning, featuring wet labs, microscopes, and computer workstations that encourage students and visitors to engage with Florida’s unique ecosystems in a meaningful way.

Beyond the classroom, the facility houses a Research Library, a vibrant Discovery Lab, and a brand-new Gift Shop that supports the park’s outreach and sustainability efforts. Whether serving as a field station for marine science or a gathering space for conservation events, the center enhances the park’s mission of environmental stewardship and education.

By blending functionality with ecological sensitivity, the Pew Family Natural Science Education Center stands as a model for how public facilities can foster curiosity, collaboration, and conservation—right in the heart of one of Florida’s most treasured natural preserves.
