Reiter Park was transformed into a vibrant community space through the construction of a wide range of recreational, civic, and environmental features. Major elements included the Church Street Extension and Festival Plaza, a multi-use amphitheater with tensile shade structure, an event lawn with lawn steps, and the expansion of an existing lake. The project also added an interactive play fountain, expanded playground areas, picnic gazebos, restrooms, and a new parking facility—creating a well-rounded environment for public gatherings and daily use.
MULTI-LAYERED PARK DESIGN BLENDS CIVIC LIFE, RECREATION, AND ECOLOGY
The design emphasized natural integration and accessibility, incorporating a boardwalk trail, sensory and interpretive gardens, rain gardens, loop trail extensions, footbridges, and a water stream feature. Existing sports courts and exercise lawns were preserved and enhanced. Together, these improvements established a dynamic civic destination that promotes community engagement, wellness, and environmental awareness.
