Worthing Park

This project reimagined a downtown urban park into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly green space designed to support passive recreation and activate the street-level experience. The existing narrow concrete sidewalks were replaced with a 17-foot-wide paver brick walkway, transforming the area into a plaza-style setting ideal for outdoor cafés and community gatherings. The upgraded park now invites residents and visitors to linger and enjoy the surroundings, while enhancing the connection between Worthing Place and the broader downtown core.

CIVIC SPACE REVITALIZED WITH LANDSCAPE, LIGHTING & COMMUNITY AMENITIES

Complementing the improved pedestrian circulation, the park features durable Florida-native landscaping, including celebration sod, palm trees, and drought-tolerant shrubs, supported by an updated irrigation system. The addition of pedestrian-scale decorative lighting, public art, curved planter seat walls, and a suite of park furniture—such as benches, café tables, a drinking fountain, and bike racks—creates a welcoming and well-appointed civic space. Completed in just two months, the revitalization blends aesthetic charm with durable, community-centered design.
