Fire Station #23

West Palm Beach, FL

Fire Station 23, located in West Palm Beach, was designed to serve as both an active battalion station and a civic landmark. The 9,700-square-foot facility featured a dormitory for eight firefighters, a semi-commercial kitchen, spacious dining area, and dedicated fitness and training zones. The station also incorporated a classroom and several offices, allowing for both operational readiness and professional development.

FIRE STATION CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT SERVICE DISRUPTION

The apparatus bay was constructed with six rolling doors, durable epoxy flooring, and metal lockers. A tiled roof and a combination of brick and stucco veneer gave the building a timeless, civic appearance. Thoughtfully designed landscaping, including side and rear yard buffers, enhanced the surrounding environment and added a sense of permanence and care to the site.

The station’s construction posed a unique logistical challenge, as the new building had to be erected directly behind the existing operational facility without disrupting day-to-day emergency response. The result was a modern, well-equipped fire station tailored to meet the growing needs of the community while honoring the traditions of fire service architecture.
