Jupiter Lighthouse Keeper's Building Restoration

Jupiter, FL

This project restored a 525-square-foot, historic 1920s wood-frame building, breathing new life into a treasured landmark for the Loxahatchee River Historical Society. The rehabilitation carefully preserved the building’s character while enhancing its functionality as a museum, complete with a new wood boardwalk and walking path that welcome visitors and connect the structure to its scenic surroundings. Every detail was approached with sensitivity to the site’s heritage, ensuring the space continues to serve as a cultural touchstone for the community.

DISCOVERY BENEATH THE FLOOR

During construction, an extraordinary discovery was made—an ancient brick well hidden beneath the building. Now the museum’s centerpiece, the well is showcased beneath glass floor panels, offering visitors a striking and immersive glimpse into the area’s past. The completed project blends historical preservation, thoughtful design, and an engaging visitor experience, allowing the Loxahatchee River’s rich history to be celebrated for generations to come.
