Patch Reef Trail/Verde Trail

Boca Raton, FL

PROJECT INFORMATION

The Patch Reef / Verde Trail project in Boca Raton, Florida is a significant step forward in advancing safe, accessible, and scenic mobility options for the community. Running along the east side of the Lake Worth Drainage District’s E-3 Canal, the new shared-use pathway spans from Verde Trail South to Town Center Road, offering a seamless connection for both cyclists and pedestrians.

DURABLE, ACCESSIBLE PATHWAY THAT SUPPORTS MULTI-MODAL MOBILITY

The 10-foot-wide path was constructed with a mix of concrete and asphalt surfaces, supported by extensive earthwork, minor concrete curbing, and the installation of concrete pavers at key transitions.

To prioritize safety, the project incorporated a rapid flashing beacon, clear pavement markings, and regulatory signage, guiding users along the route while improving visibility at crossings. Fencing was added to protect users along the canal’s edge and reinforce boundaries throughout the trail.

All improvements were delivered in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications and Federal Special Provisions, ensuring durability, safety, and accessibility while elevating the city’s growing network of multi-modal infrastructure.
