Alligator Alley Rest Area
Collier County, FL
Located along the iconic stretch of State Road 93 (I-75) in Collier County, the Alligator Alley Rest Area Improvements project delivered a comprehensive upgrade to a vital stopover for travelers and commercial vehicles. Focused on enhancing the visitor experience and modernizing infrastructure, the improvements spanned both the northbound and southbound facilities at Mile Marker 63.
UPGRADES THAT PRIORITIZE TRAVELER COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
The redevelopment included new concrete parking areas, base work, ADA-compliant sidewalks, pavement markings, and enhanced lighting—all aimed at improving circulation, safety, and accessibility. Key amenities such as picnic pavilions, benches, and trash receptacles were added to create a more pleasant and accommodating atmosphere for rest and recreation.

On the south side of the corridor, the project also included milling and resurfacing, along with updated signage and striping to improve roadway clarity and ensure compliance with modern transportation standards.
This project reflects Florida’s commitment to providing well-maintained, user-friendly rest areas along major travel routes—offering relief and comfort amid the vast expanse of the Everglades.
